The idea and desire to start Transformed to Hope began in the heart of the founder, Erika Jale nine years ago as she felt God gave her the name "Transformed to Hope." In 2015 she was able to visit the Calais refugee camp in northern France, with about 10,000 refugees. In response to the need and opportunity to love our new neighbor, Transformed to Hope was formed for “such a time as this.”
Erika Jale
Founder and Executive Director
Erika has years of experience in living cross culturally. Her family moved to Kenya while she was in high-school. In Africa, she confronted the issues of those in poverty firsthand. This led her to study Intercultural Studies in College. She then went on to get her Masters in Social Work with a concentration in international macro social work, including how to start and run non-profits. Through her Masters program, Erika was able to intern with the Executive Director of Salvation Army in Los Angeles. She then moved to France in 2015.
